How to set up and use Locations?

Mobicip helps you stay connected with your family by showing your children devices location at any moment — whether your child is heading to school, out with friends or on the way home. 

Mobicip Locations allows you to:

• View your child’s current or last known location
• View their location history 
• Create safe boundaries around important places (Geo-fencing)
• Receive notifications when your child enters or leaves a saved place
• Share your own location with your child
• View all family members on a single map

Note: Location tracking works only when location permission for Mobicip is enabled on both the parent and child’s device under Settings > Mobicip > Location > Set to Always Allow. Learn more

Here’s how you can use locations: 

1. View your child’s location:

• Open the Mobicip Parent app.
• Select your child at the top.
• Tap Locations.

You’ll see the child’s current location (if the device is online) or the last known location (if offline).

Note: The location updates when the device moves at least 100–200 meters from the last located place. 

2. Save important places (Geo-fencing):

Create and save locations like Home, School, or any place you want to monitor. You can set up to get alerts when your child enters or leaves these boundaries.

To save a place:

• Open the Mobicip Parent app.
• Go to Rules > Locations.
• Tap + and search for an address.
• A default 100-meter boundary appears.
• Hold and drag to adjust the radius (up to 1000 meters).
• Add a name and choose a tag: Safe or Unsafe.
• Enable the notifications you prefer
• Tap Save.

3. View saved places:

Go to Rules > Locations to see all Geo-fenced locations for your child. You can edit or delete any saved place from here.

4. Share your Location with your child:

• Open Locations in the Parent app.
• Tap Share.
• Choose the type of location: Current or Live.
• Select your child and tap Share.

5. Get Directions to Your Child’s Location:

Open Locator and tap Directions to navigate to your child’s location.

6. See your family on one map:

• Open the Mobicip Parent app.
• Tap My Family.
• Select Family Locator.
